Don’t let the door slam you in the ass on your way out.

Hopefully, JLG is smart enough to know that you can probably raise UMC taxes to deal with our tough fiscal situation and not see a bunch of flight SO LONG AS you don’t ruin the schools and police.

Good luck with that.

We know JLG is incapable of cutting spending. We know that she does not give a fig about crime. We know that she will do whatever the teachers union tells her.

Probably safe to predict that crime will go up substantially. Taxes will go up substantially too, which will worsen DC's already pretty bad unemployment problem. Schools are definitely not going to get better; more likely, they will get worse.

Perhaps a Mayor Trump wouldn't be so bad.

On a serious note, she is going to have to switch up on some of her promises so perhaps she will not be that bad.

I don't think we'll have tax increases. I also don't think she'll even attempt more than like 5% of her platform. If you actually look at her record on the council, it's mainstream. She's Bowser with younger, more progressive rhetoric. That's it.

My main concern is that she will do a bad job hiring the team around her. Also I think she's arrogant, and will be defensive when criticized, which I think is a bad combo in an executive.

But Duffie is a do nothing grifter. It was two bad options and I think JLG has *slightly* more potential to be an ok mayor.

Exactly. She’s known for being just awful to work for and the DC government needs strong, stable leadership to get through the current fiscal and federal crises. But the good news is there are so many desperate former Feds that maybe she’ll get some outside perspective on her team that isn’t used to “business as usual” in DC politics. We’ll see.

A career bureaucrat becomes mayor.

What, specifically, will she do to screw them? What are her proposed policies for them?

JLG hates charters like Netanyahu hates Palestinians. Probably fair to assume some pretty steep budget cuts, especially given the difficult budget straits the DC government will be in. She didn't campaign on that, but politicians tend to only campaign on the things they think will be popular. They save the controversial stuff that will cost them votes for after the election.

Yeah, about ten of you are going to do this. Crybabies. Like this mayor will be any different from previous ones.

I don’t care if we’re the only ones. Love living here but done paying exorbitant income taxes.

Then move to Missouri or Arkansas. The taxes are low there but the quality of life is more your speed.

You misread. These people are not talking about MOVING. They are talking about moving their PRIMARY RESIDENCE. If you don’t understand the difference, that’s a problem for you.

It blows my mind that any charter family voted for JLG. Talk about chickens voting for Colonel Sanders.

Serious question- why exactly do you love that? Tons of DC families are having a great experience in charters. Now theyll flee to private schools or move. That makes you happy?

How can we see the results per Ward. Wonder how she did in her own Ward.
