Theres plenty of rec leagues that have wrapped up already if that's your cup of tea 🙄
First year at this level and they didn’t give me a handbook. I’m trying to understand what is expected so we can plan appropriately. Don’t be a jerk.
My advice is take your vacation in the summer when you want. Especially at U13-U15 when it doesn’t matter. Soccer will still be there when you get back and in the long run it won’t matter one bit.
Yes. Miss the playoffs and go to the beach instead. I’m sure that will go over well with teammates.
Teammates won’t care. More playing time for them. When you look back in 5, 10 years you will be glad you spent family time and will chuckle at how little importance the U13 summer soccer tournament has.

Playoffs are earned over the last year in conference play. They added a National Cup this year for the next 10 teams after the playoff teams. Everyone else goes to the show case. The showcase is ranked. So if you are in Showcase, but in Pool A of Showcase then you are in the Top 4 of the teams that didn't make Playoffs or National Cup. Pool B is next and so on.
So basically if you are on one of these teams you should plan your summer around it?
If you are playing U13 and up for the first time next year in either ECNL/ RL or GA/ Aspire... yes, pay attention to how well your team is doing in the standings and don't plan summer trips in June next summer as you would be expected to travel for a playoff or showcase event(s)...It seems by July all events are done though.
ECNL playoffs are in July, and GA National finals are in July (these playoffs determine teams that advance).
