Why is it that a kid asking about curly hair is called racist? The kid has no idea about hair curl being interpreted as racist. They’re merely asking a question, it might not be a very nice question, but they are certainly not racist because of it. The accusations of racism against children has gotten so out of hand.

so the gist here is a young child asked another child why that child had curly hair?

That's it?

Some parents just live to raise a stink. I can imagine that mother is likely somewhere on the Munchausen spectrum, and she's been waiting for an opportunity to take something innocuous and blow it up.

I'd follow the coach's advice and ignore it. Sounds like she's well known, just avoid her and her kid.

Yikes. The parent may have overreacted a touch, but your kid was out of line. Teach her what's ok and what's not. She can't just say every little thing that pops into her head. You may think it's an innocuous comment, but it's not. Is the kid filled with curly-haired kids? Probably not. So, your kid singled out a child and asked a negative sounding question. She's young so she'll learn, but it is your job to help her get there.

Maybe the kid hasn’t been socialized . That’s what I’ve noticed with kids nowadays
