IMO anyone who sends their children to private schools should not be the mayor.

25 year DC resident and I send my kids to private schools as well. Not his fault or his kids’ fault that DC public schools suck so much.

Privilege has its advantages; but if you want to run a city you should invest yourself fully in public services and the public good. Jack Evans sucked in this way too (and many others.)

I really appreciated rank choice voting. Yes, it was more work, but I don’t like McDuffie or JLG, and this way I was able to vote them 3rd and 4th, with Johnson and Goodweather 1st and 2nd and not be worried I was throwing my vote away. In the past, I would have had to just hold my nose and vote for McDuffie.

+1 21 year resident with kids in private school. I’d rather a mayor who can recognize the schools are not good enough and kids won’t just be fine.

JLG
White
Silverman
Nelson/Raymond/Jackson

Was somewhat torn about White, and only lukewarm on JLG, but the obvious crony vibes among McDuffie, Crawford, and Chavous really rubbed me the wrong way.

Vote for Janeese! It’ll be great! We can siphon off millions from actual tax payers to fund violence interruptor programs that studies show do nothing. And we can build tons more projects to house more generational poverty and exacerbate crime. Also, we can do it all while villainizing the business community during a time of stalling tax revenues. Great plan. This is why we can’t have nice things.

McDuffie
Silverman
Oye/Nelson
White

I would have considered Pinto but she ran a really embarrassing campaign and it makes me think she wouldn't be taken seriously in that (pretty weak as it is) role.

I voted for JLG as a vote against McDuffie.

Why is everyone voting for White? Ugh. I watched the candidate forum and he's just talk, talk, talk. Especially when it comes to statehood.

I like Zalesne and Pinto. They actually had a strategy and talked about the work they've already done.

McDuffie. He is the only sane option.

Also voted for Silverman, which I realize is an ironic combination. And for White.

I think the difference is, silverman is actually an effective councilmember where oversight is concerned.

Oh, I know, I like Silverman. It’s ironic because McDuffie pushed her off the Council in the first place after he screwed up his AG bid.
