Walk down the path to the trailer and peek into the boiler room windows. It’s not just a matter of buying “a new unit” - that system is ancient and only a few people within APS can even service it. Parts are increasingly hard to come by. I think I read that we might be scheduled for a partial renovation in 2039.
However you or anyone may feel about it, the fact is that our 22207 tax revenue is being used to support lower income schools and families.
Wait, did you think your taxes should only support your own zip code? I live in 22207 and think that’s ridiculous.
No that isn’t the point. The point is that many people who lives in odd-numbered ZIPs can’t understand why APS isn’t doing backstrokes through piles of money like Scrooge McDuck. And it’s because we have extremely high needs populations that most northerners don’t see or interact with.

Is it? Because one of the newest fanciest schools - with a slide! - is in 22207.
A school with the same design was built in 22204 as well
Yes the county is spending money in all parts of the county as it should. But you complained your 22207 tax revenue is being used to support lower income schools and families so I pointed out that they built Discovery in 22207.
Do you think they should just spend in 22207?!?

Middle schoolers can leave the cafeteria more readily if they are hot.
It's the entire school at Gunston. Classrooms are in the 90s. It has been years of broken AC.
How is this not a civil rights lawsuit??
