Agree with driving. You can throw whatever you like in the trunk and no queuing for planes or rentals.

+2

These days even a long drive is less time, or at least less hassle, than flying. (I’m actually on a plane right now, and even in 1st it is awful).

I like Berkeley Springs. We find hiking, biking, massages at a spa, and just walking around the town.

Are you in the DMV? Bermuda is a quick flight (about 2 hours) from DC area airports.

Miami or San Juan, PR. Easy direct flights, nice beaches, and good food.

Boars Head Inn in Charlottesville, VA. Drive down via the Shenandoah and do a hike. Visit some vineyards and stroll around the cute downtown. Lots of great restaurants to choose from there. Walk around the UVA campus or tour Monticello if you like history.

Lots of great ideas but realistically budget is probably $500 a night for hotel. It would also be nice to have some water access (a pool is fine)

Dorado Beach Ritz Carlton in Puerto Rico.

It will be hot but so is DC and MD.

Get the rooms with your own private plunge pool.
