The flights to Europe are harder for me because I don't sleep well on plates. I much prefer to arrive there around 11am, check in early if possible (usually easy to do), nap, and sleep lightly because my body is confused but the first full day is always fine.

Agree with this. Europe to DC is pretty easy. DC to Europe is tough. Always spend arrival day in Europe on a fog and/or sleepwalking. I can’t sleep on planes either.

Same! OP...if you have a nonstop flight from your European location, you can leave later. If you have a connection somewhere, start early. Travel has been s SH##! Show since the Iran War...delays abound.

I prefer to get home at around 4/5ish if possible because it gives me time to unpack, sort mail, get ready for the next day (often a work day). When we get home at 8 or 9 pm we basically go to bed. But I can work with anything.
