Capital club experience is not great. They need to evolve with the times. Some of the coaches are very good.

That said, they are the best option, by far, in the DC area, and recruiting results and reputation sustain that. Lots of coaches will be on the sidelines for them this summer.

If you are a 2030 looking at being a top 5 player on Cap Blue, you can likely make an M&D or Hero's team, but you will probably not be top 5 there... Trade offs. Plus, if you live on the Virginia side, rough commute.

Capital is a miserable program. They have a good track record for recruiting but hearing Capital parents complain about authoritarian ways of the program is starting to really turn people off. Oh, and I think M&D DC sucks too. DC area kids and families deserve better than these two programs.


We had a kid play for Capital and had a great experience. Our daughter is headed to an ivy


She was going to the Ivy League either way. However congrats

Frankly M&D DC isn't a great team either. Point is there is a lot of '29 talent across all three teams.


Put all 3 together and they still lose to the top MD teams.

Agree that this is a pretty worthless analysis. The only point that resonates with me is the one on the dilution of the Capital talent pool. Responders have clarified that the top athletes from GC and SR are going North to Baltimore type clubs. Also, strange that Saints kids are not playing for Blue as Saints is the host HS for capital. If Capital is now a NCS, Holy Child and SJC club, it suggests a big shift and probably not for the good for Capital. You saw a hint of the sub-standard commitments at the bottom part of the 27 class and the overall Capital rankings have shifted down a standard deviation. It may no longer be the Capital of recent years. Otherwise not a helpful "analysis."

Did the recent run of negative posters notice that other, more helpful posters, already augmented the Cap Blue breakdown, by noting other clubs contributing at ISL and WCAC schools to round out the discussion.
