I have declined several wedding and birthday party invites if they're taking place outdoors in high summer. If there's no beach/ lake/ pool at your summer party, I'm probably not going.

And most people don't have a choice when they get married. I chose the only date available in 1.5 years at my venue. It was a fall wedding though.

I did it. Black tie in July. The only reason we did it was because the venue had air conditioning outside. Of course, it broke and ended up being hot as hell. I'm sorry to the universe!

Anonymous wrote:We had a summer wedding 20+ years ago because it was easier for our extended family with kids to attend (we had siblings with school-aged children traveling from CA and TX, FL and Rochester, NY). We lucked out, because while it was warm it wasn't humid.
I promise you there are a million reasons why people choose to get married on any particular date, and not a one of them gives a darn about your make-up or your outfit
