Subject: Puppy Wakes up at 5:45
Op, my 4 year old dogs are waking up at 5:30 instead of thier usual 6:30. I think it has something to do with the early sunrise.

You didn't address the issue that almost 9 hours in a crate for a puppy is a long time and unrealistic that the puppy won't get restless.
Are you wearing the puppy out before one last pee, then crate? My experience with puppies is that they sleep hard in spurts all day long.
This, especially if the puppy is crated during the day too.

9pm to 5:45am is almost 9 hours. That is a pretty long time. You seem to have unrealistic expectations. Either you go to bed earlier when the puppy does or you keep him out until you go to bed.

What time are you going to bed, OP? If you're going to bed at 9 as well and not getting up until almost 7, that seems like a lot of sleep. If you're not going to bed until 10 or 11, why are you putting your dog in the crate at 9?

For a puppy that young, do a quick bathroom break and re-crate them. They will adjust. Yes, you may experience a few days of whining.
