OP, this is a great opportunity and yes one to pursue. Ignore the haters. Typically, interns are in college and are rising juniors or seniors. Is that your student?

Thanks, she is a rising senior so I know it’s a bit late in the game.

Redshirt and apply to Madeira -- every junior gets a five-week internship on the Hill junior year.

OP. Assuming umyour kid is in high school. Start with your own reps and ask - although most spots are taken up early and some by big donors. Ask about work on subcommittees. Then have your kid talk to their high school advisors. Ask anyone who is involved in politics. It’s very difficult to break in to these positions. My kid did it by a high school program that paired kids with reps for a semester’s work but that’s unusual. Use your resources.

This should absolutely outage you, because Kamala didn’t get anywhere except by sheer hard work & world-class brainpower. Nobody gave her the benefit of the doubt due to whom she slept with, her race, or her gender. No siree!

lol. She’s such an embarrassment

There are a lot of moderate Republicans to work for ON THE HILL?

Sure, in absolute numbers there are moderate Republicans, but show me some that don't vote like Orange Glo tells them? That's like . . . 10 guys, half of which lost their primaries.

There are plenty of good schools with Republican Alumni who would love internships on the R side. Not to mention the Service Academies.

Well actually, there are a lot of solid moderate republicans that are really good to work for. People these days are so quick to judge based on a label. But we’ve lived in republican and democrat districts and I can honestly say that the republcan members were always more responsive to my family’s requests.

Just a reminder that half of the country is republican...

100% false and your post proves that you have no idea what you're talking about. Why would college students who are Republican Hill interns care about the Common App?

I had two who have interned while in college for well known Republicans. It is on their resumes with no problem. There is still a thing called "diversity," if you're familiar with the concept.

My DS who is at GW told me about this website that he has been using during his current (college) internship. Based on this post

https://unanimousconsent.discourse.group/t/house-job-rumors-mega-thread/663/8

It seems like Fall applications are open. Your DD would still be able to get a couple months before applications are due.
