I have no idea what you mean by "not evolved." OP described a pretty normal range of topics and it's a range of topics that goes back centuries. See Mrs. Bennet in Pride & Prejudice. And it's because it's normal human interest. Sorry most people aren't interested in discussing fake progressive ideologies.

Try to chill out and be more accepting
This is so strange. No one objected to any of those things. I think the point is that discussions SOLELY focused on shallow and material things can be boring. It’s odd that you don’t see that

This is more like the convos I'm involved in. If travel is mentioned it's because people inquired and people are genuinely interested/want recommendations, etc. We're more likely to ask about tofu-pressing tips.

Yes I am stealing topics but just curious. I see/hear a lot of this lately in some of my circles and it is so BORING
Although maybe it’s just safer to talk about this stuff than politics

You can talk about these things without it being a "pissing contest."
Your perception of it as a pissing contest may be more about your perspective than about anything these people in your "circles" are doing. At any rate, if it is all-caps BORING, maybe you need new friends and acquaintances.
Found the shallow one in the group!
Found the insecure one!

Again, every time this question comes up:
You are who your friends are!
Change your friends or stop complaining.
