Attorneys at my agency are 100 percent civil service and can only be removed for cause. We aren't competitive service, but otherwise have the same protections from termination.

At almost all agencies, there are GS-15 attorney advisors. Do you recognize the PDs as being sub-GS-15? Or can you tell from the office being listed because they don't have GS-15 with that title?

NP at my agency many/most attorney advisors are GS 14. I believe there are some GS 13s too. Supervisory attorney advisors were GS 15.

They are at mine too, however, at least for our large group our position number was not listed so it must be higher level managers that are affected.

Job titles like “Policy Analyst” and “Program Analyst.” I don’t know for sure but would be surprised if these are a GS-15.

I think the process was that each agency put further the list for OPM/OMB to review and accept. This could be why it's haphazard.
My understanding is also that this list will grow. No one loses their job today just their job protections.

PD# should be on your most recent SF-50 (including ones issued for awards or COLAs), so folks can check there.

I’m below a 15 and was spared, but my boss wasn’t

The way I am reading the appendix to the order (aka the list of positions) is that in order to know whether you are affected, you have to look at the position description #, not just the job title.

If I look at job title, I am affected. But my position description # is not listed - I'm hoping this means I'm safe (unless my position description # has been updated since I was hired).

(Btw, I am not a 15, and there are many many people with the same job title at my agency, so it makes sense that my position would not be affected, if the effect of this order was limited to 15s and to a small # of positions.)

They were fired, but illegally. There's a difference between "essentially meaningless" and "actually gone."

Plus this allows them to remove individually vs in groups as they did in the RIFs.
