Former MV parent now at DCI. The trip was not only immersive but also very educational. We got lots of info about the itinerary. It was also a lot of fun so good balance. It was great. My kid and his friends loved it.
FWIW, we prioritize travel so my kid is well traveled and have gone to more amazing places. But traveling with his friends, classmates, and fun teachers and staff was what hyped up the fun factor and made it amazing.

MV works with families who might have circumstances and looks at case specific.
MV picked PR because some families don’t have passports or can’t get passports.
Lastly, yes the trip can be life changing and impactful on kids who have never flown, traveled outside the country, experienced another culture or way of life ir been immersed in one.
The school sets aside money to help needed families for the trip.
BTW some of the other immersion charters also do capstone trips. The Stokes spanish kids go to Panama. I don’t know about DCB or Lamb.
DCB also goes to Puerto Rico
