Interested in seeing how the DMV clubs do there (SYC, BSC, PPA, and Pipeline). U10 and U11 groups look tough.
People from DMV are going to Florida in summer for a tournament after the season is over for u-littles?
It's a bit much... Super Copa is seen as a premier cross league tournament where only the best teams are invited. It's in the exclusive/ elite category.
Families should be saying no, but for the families on the top teams with disposable income, it's a fun thing to do.
-There is os much research saying how playing in endless tournaments and playing soccer year round are bad for kids... but all these opportunities just keep popping up to fill in any empty spots on the soccer calendar.
Season is over
Start working on fixing your individual weaknesses and sharpening your strengths mixed with summer fun
Traveling to sweltering Florida for 3 more games where you may touch the ball 12 times is silly

BSC is losing players because of poor coaching and at least one of their teams will not even score a single goal. Totally worth it, Bed Side Commode Kool-Aid drinkers!!!
Poor coaching? Are you suggesting all the coaches at BSC poor or just a select few? Only 2 teams from BSC are going to Super Copa so I hope you are not referring to the 2015G E1 team.

Omg wtf is wrong with people like you? Yes. Yes they are. Because it's fun. The kids like soccer and the families like to travel. Yeah it's hot in Florida but the kids can cope.

Nice try at the forced self justification
I mean, seriously, why are you here? This is a forum for people that are into soccer. This specific topic is very clearly about a tournament. So you literally just spent your time intentionally coming on here just to say you don't like it? Do you go to the grocery store and stand at the checkout line and tell people you don't like the food they are buying? Is this distracting you from your hobby of going on the Disney forums and telling people you think Disney resorts suck?
I'm not going to this tournament, but we know people who are and I hope they do well and that they have a good time.
10 and 11 year olds flying from DMV to Florida in summer after the season is over for a tournament is nonsense

Can you point me to that? I did a quick search and couldn’t find anything specially regarding tournaments being bad, or year round being bad. A few things carved soccer out as an exception, but not really on topic to the tournaments.
I’d love to read that research because I’m always trying to figure out the right balance and it’s very challenging.

Lots of research on ‘professionalization of youth sports’ leading to burnout.

“Invited” is more like it… If you apply and will pay you get in. Getting wiped, which is the historical norm for our local teams is apparently “fun”. And the families who do go think it’s some proxy for how good their kid is.
