Sounds right. Costco is $11.50-$12 for 1.5 gallons of organic milk.

I pay $5.49 for a bag of the pita chips at Harris Teeeter. I just checked the app and that’s the current price. As a matter of fact, it shows they’re BOGO today so about $2.75. Did you buy the large 16oz bag instead of the typical size? Those are $9.99. I don’t buy things like this unless they’re on sale. Inflation is crazy so I now buy more generics and keep track of typical prices for foods I buy frequently. I have not found any one chain to have across the board cheaper prices. One store is cheaper on milk, another on eggs, another on produce. It’s a pain to chase the best prices.

Where are you shopping. I use Walmart delivery and it’s not close to that.

I haven’t seen eggs at $12 a dozen, anywhere-ever. Even when we were having that egg issue a few months ago. It’s hard to take you seriously when you are just flat out lying. And even at whole foods a half gallon of milk isn’t $8-9 for organic.

Paper is expensive for packaging. Eve try thing is a bout to get more expensive as oil and dowel for trucks and ships is going to be super pricey and we get everything shipped from farms and china to our stores.

No one should be normalizing $8 chips. I think Lidl wins for the best prices. Aldi and Walmart tie for second.

Groceries are up for sure, but they are a drop in the bucket compared to the increases we are paying in health insurance premiums/deductibles/copays, and homeowners and car insurance. All way more expensive and covering way less.

I don’t know why it isn’t being discussed more. It’s hitting me way harder than groceries.

It’s the cost of the war- oil, aluminum, plastics, naphtha to make dyes- all shortages. Gas to transport the goods to the store. The actual items themselves, as well. Tariffs (an extra tax we paid) now the war.
Even if the peace agreement is signed today, it will take until November 2027 to get back to normal. You think prices will go down then? No, because now the producer knows you will pay that price. But, those profits will go to create more jobs, unlike now.
