I agree. I have worked more than 15 years at MCPS and I make about 115k per year. Whenever I look at private school jobs, I cringe because I would take a 20k-35k pay cut. There's also more duties and stuff at private schools it seems like. For what people pay to have their kids go to these schools, teacher pay should be way higher.

The over emphasis on athletics (and I have daughters who are/were athletes) is correct. But it is through athletics that the US gets Ivy admissions -- not academics. The crying during every speech by the HoS is a well worn joke among the students. SR has the resources to do better, it just isn't putting those resources into the right places. I hope it gets back on track.
