You buy a yearbook each year. Are you very poor?

If your school does not have the funds (or enough paying students) to have yearbooks - there are online yearbooks also that can be compiled. It gets printed for those who want the yearbooks. Companies like treering.

My junior at a small private school says they do sign each other's yearbooks.

My DD is a sophomore and I was surprised when she did not ask her friends to sign it last year. I do think texting may have squashed this tradition a bit. I remember it being such a big deal!

Maybe it depends on the school. My kids really enjoy their yearbooks but they’ve never gotten them signed and when I asked they said nobody does it. Probably something that went away during Covid and didn’t come back.

Ummm...DS purchased the yearbooks in HS but really never got them signed. DD, who is a HS junior, has purchased them and has had them signed.

I have mine from HS still and they are fun to look back on every once in awhile. My parents still have theirs too and they are from the 1950's and 1960's.

Ugh I tossed my high school yearbooks except senior year, which I hid, because I don’t want my kids to see what my friends wrote. Some of the messages were really crass and others reflected poorly on me. Some were both. It was really bad.

Yes they do sign. My DD takes extra paper to put in the yearbook bc there isn’t enough room otherwise

A boy made fun of my daughter’s sixth grade yearbook photo online and she refused to get her picture done this year for 7th grade. She wasn’t online yet, somebody told her. Their middle school yearbooks aren’t as elaborate as the high school ones.
