Op here. I listed some clothes at $3.00 a skort or short set, some mix and match separates, pj sets, dress up, many of them like new - mostly Carters and Oshkosh and had a few people messaging me and I got rid of my first bundle.

I think I undervalued my items. Was browsing other listings and they were at $4 for a set and in not as great condition as mine based on pictures.

I'm not sure if ironing them will get me more but going to try that on my next bundle.

I've sold clothes at wear it again kid in Leesburg. It pays you 50%. There is a $3.00 check fee every three months if you don't spend your funds on items from them. A bit far but we have family out in Leesburg. I wish Little Lords and Ladies was still in Chantilly. There is Lemon Lane in Falls church, but they only seem to want higher end brands. For example, they won't take Primary, but I do pretty well with it at Wear it Again Kid. I've done Facebook marketplace for Bikes, Scooters, and Stollers.

Who sets the sale price there? Or do you mean 60 percent of what you paid? For a Carters set or a Gymboree outfit what could you expect? Or for tops?

If your goal is the most money, I hear ThredUp is a good option. If your goal is to declutter, Kid2Kid is a pretty good option.

What is ThredUp? Is it like FB market place? How much could you get for an outfit or a dress if selling in a bundle?

For an outfit like short set or pant set, do they really go for $4? I wasn't able to sell an almost new dress for $5.

I don't sell just one outfit at a time. That's not worth the hassel for me. I don't think those will sell. I'm talking about a full wardrobe. Something like 20 t-shirt and 10 pairs of shorts for $65.

This is what I’ve done as well. I usually price it at about the equivalent of $1-$2 an item, so $30 for 25 items or something like that. Bulk has worked best. When I’ve split into pants and shirts or smaller bundles it doesn’t seem to sell as well.

I don’t know if it’s Facebook marketplace getting worse or not as many people wanting bigger sizes (like 10-12), but I had much better success with baby/toddler/early elementary age clothes. It’s probably a combination.

Kid2Kid doesn't give you much for your clothes, in my experience. It will vary by location (they are franchises) but the one we use has given less and less over the years. We still use it because my goal is to get the clothes to people who will use it. If your goal is to recoup costs, I wouldn't advise that route.

Anonymous wrote:Kid2Kid is fine if you shop there and want the store credit. You can bring it and shop while they look through. I would say they pay 50 cents to $2 per piece but they are very selective - if they already have plenty of inventory in that size or gender they may not take most of what you bring in, even if it's in great condition.

This is exactly our experience with Kid2Kid. 50 cents to $2 per item, and they won't take it if they already have a lot in that size or type. But they give you cash or store credit on the spot, and it's not far from us so it works and then whatever they don't take I give to Buy Nothing. I used to consign a lot at Bellies & Babies (RIP) in Del Ray, but can't get motivated to do a Just Between Friends sale even though I know I'd probably get more than at Kid2Kid.

For current (within 2 years) higher end pieces try 529 Consign in Old Town Alexandria

And is better to do small bundles like 5 sets for $20 or just put everything in one bundle for $100

I’m not selling my nice kids clothes for $1/item so people can pull up in their luxury SUVs and haggle with me. And had the time they flake. That is so not worth it. I just give them to my house cleaner and she hands them out in her community.

Anonymous wrote:Most people in our neighborhood pass clothes along to neighbors, the people who try to sell tend to not sell.

Look for a shelter or a foster kid support group If you do donate.

This is my experience as well, the Facebook groups are often flooded with people offering free clothes (which I don't mind).
