I really hope if people are resentful that I’m proud of my kids’ sports achievements and am cheering on every friend’s kids, they just unfriend me. I hope OP’s is proud of his math competition kids and feels free to tell the world. Hopefully there is enough room for all of us to support our kids and if this is somehow annoying to you I definitely don’t want to be friends.

People watch sports. That's why they are called spectator sports. Not sure why folk take issue with the social media share. Who cares? Pitting academic achievement against athletic achievement as if they are mutually exclusive is silly and petty.
