+1. Not completely related, but i'd like to see the elimination of B-meet ribbons for 13+ except for special circumstances. So many of those ribbons go to the trash.

Our pool does not post a ladder and the time on the backs of those ribbons are the only way to track/know kids' times (unless you write it down as your kid swims, which is hard to do if you are volunteering). If that were not the case, I would agree with you

I suspect that with the move to swimtopia, all those times will be available now. (You can probably go check your account right now...) I'm the data person, and when we migrated to swimtopia, we transferred all our old meet data. In your account, you should be able to see your kids' best times as well as times at various meets. It's possible some pools didn't transfer the old data, but I'm guessing once the season starts it will all be available there

I'm the pp. Our team has had swimtopia for at least the last two years. I just checked it and there are zero times of any kind for any of my kids.

Kids can only swim 2 strokes + IM if we get to it.

You can't swim if you placed on Saturday. But if you didn't, go for it. It's especially good for the younger kids on Fly and Breast to try to get it legal in a judged situation.

Our team has used Swimtopia for at least 5 years. Our coaches/reps simply unclick options to hide all times. BUT…we have a transparent ladder with all team times and always know where our kids are for purposes of A meet and relay planning.

That’s correct, because B meets are not NVSL events. Some teams have formed B meet leagues and may have adopted rules, but the most leave the question of who swims B meets to team governance.

Not allowed to swim in an event that you placed 1-3 on Saturday. 2 strokes + IM.

Lower-division small team here. Can't swim a stroke that you placed 1/2/3 on the previous Saturday.

In our younger age groups, we have a hard time filling all lanes for some strokes. If we didn't let them swim B meets if they swam at the A meet at all, there wouldn't be anyone in the B meet event. If I only have 3 9-10 boys who can legally do a breaststroke, but they're not strong enough at it to place at an A meet, they can swim it again at a B meet for practice.

B meets aren’t governed by the NVSL nor considered NVSL events.

We're a middle division team. If you get 1st, 2nd or 3rd on Saturday, you're not allowed to swim that stroke on Monday. Depending on who we're swimming against in the B meet, we allow our swimmers to swim more than 2 strokes. If we're swimming a large team, and the meet is going to drag on forever, then we limit the swimmers to 2 events. Swimmers pick which events they want to swim, as long as they don't place on Saturday.

Our coach picks it. To be honest with you I have not noticed any rhyme a reason to it. We are a less competitive pool though.

Cannot swim the same strokes. The rare exception to this is an 8U who cannot legally or safely do fly, so they repeat an A meet stroke & it is approved.
