My dh substitute teaches and has a preference for gigs at Frost and Cabin John because the kids are the best behaved.

Can someone share resources to teach kids about vaping? Is it parents or school responsibilities to teach them about vaping? We have a rising 6th grader.

I asked my DC if this post is true and they said no they don’t regularly see any fights or vaping at frost. They feel safe.

Probably best to move before high school.

Your child is reporting the same thing I've heard from teachers who have worked there for years. The behavior of.some students have gotten pretty bad over the years.

I got punched in the face there in 1981. During outdoor gym. By a girl I didn't know. She and her friend decided to pick on me that day. I verbally insulted the friend and she popped me in the jaw.

I got them suspended.

I moved away the next school year. Many years later I heard that the girl who instigated but did not hit me was sent to Catholic high school.

Didn't miss it.

Moved away from MoCo to raise kids elsewhere.

Good grief.... we may have lost the plot here if we are headed back to the 80s to inform us about current Frost

How does what happened to you 45 years ago speak to what’s happening today? The MCPS leadership and school leadership have changed so many times since then.

I don’t wish anyone to be punched in the face but that happened to you literally the year I was born!

Cabin John parent. We don’t have any safety concerns. Our child reports occasional bathroom vaping, very very occasional fight, and pretty much no bullying. (7th grade)

I also haven’t heard any of this about my kid’s MS which is not one of the 3 names by OP. Possible my kid just ignores it, but I haven’t heard about it from other parents either. Did hear about some poor bus behavior when my kid started MS, but not fights or vaping at school.

Different kids have different tolerances to certain environments, I wish we kept this in mind when talking about schools, some kids can handle fights everyday others will feel very anxious in those type of environments.

The admin is responsive but the plans they put in place to separate the bully from the victim are never enforced. Are you hearing the same things from Hoover and Cabin John? We are renters so thinking of moving over the summer.

You seem awfully casual about your child's ongoing terrible experience. Why don't you care?
