He was barricaded because he was having a mental health crisis. Everybody was out safely. The question was, was this situation handled appropriately? Could there have been a better outcome for everyone, including the officers? I doubt they really wanted to shoot this guy going into the situation. So how did it escalate and could anything have been done differently? Maybe so, maybe not. But I don't understand people who don't want answers to these questions.

Whether or not he should have had a knife is a different question than whether he should have been shot and killed. There is always an investigation when an officer uses a weapons. It's required. There's a reason for that.

Threatening a law enforcement office with a dangerous weapon (knife) is almost always grounds upon which an officer’s use of force (with his weapon) is justifiable.
