The weather in Paris will be dreadful and your kids will hate Europe forevermore

Also going to Hokkaido! Rusutsu and Hirafu

we have family in san francisco and go most winter breaks, and nearly every break it rains--maybe part of hte trip, maybe the entire trip. Then, 6 weeks later in feb, its gorgeous again.

We are looking at either Colombia, Argentina or Hawaii this year. I'm tired of spending 8k for a week in the rain in sf.

I'd go to Tucson -- great food, great hiking, lots of places to hear live music and see beautiful art.

Funny, because I've been to San Diego multiple times and Oxnard it was totally fine if not perfect weather during that stretch. It is nice to have the heads up it's not "guaranteed", but it's far more likely to be nice there than almost all of the US.

I went on a London/Scotland Xmas/NYE trip and I would not recommend Scotland. It was so cold and grey and dreary. Like it just drizzled for days. London was ok but Scotland was just wet.
