Why? It explains so much. Is he generally a bad person or is gift giving not his love language?
I would describe him as sweet, but lazy in the home. His mamma did EVERYTHING for him. Still not sure how he felt okay leaving me dry on Mothers Day but he dis.
That's your man! You couldn't wait to get down the aisle with him.

Also, had it been received on Mother's Day, you would have been criticized anyway, for the usual reasons:
1. Mother's Day is not important.
2. You need to tell your family want you want to do, and most of the time, you need to make it happen yourself.
Nobody did anything for me either last Sunday - husband was sick, teens were preparing for exams. And guess what? I had a wonderful day anyway, because I know my family loves me, and performative expressions of their love at an arbitrarily chosen moment in time means nothing.
Get over it, OP.

Anonymous wrote:I think I will schedule email reminders, to go out a year from now, reminding DH to do something for me for Mothers Day. I will also buy online cards for myself - the kind I can schedule so at least I get a few cards. I can pretend they are from my mother and a friend. Maybe I can schedule flowers too.
