You don’t need a table to fold clothes.

Agree (no one could use it that way!)

That person sits there as people stand with trays of food looking for a seat. Get food, THEN get table, people. The tables turn over fast. But not if they’re all being reserved by people who don’t even have their food yet.

Different situation. Tables are also for sitting in a restaurant. It's not unused when someone sits there waiting for the order. Otherwise, you would order in restaurants and be seated when your food arrives from the kitchen.

DP. Not a restaurant with table service. This is the cafe analogy (PP even said FAST FOOD place CHIPOTLE). I don't know how they could make it more clear to you. You don't sit at a table before you get your counter food.

Again, even so, tables are also for sitting. Why does everyone in my party need to mill around while I order food? After I order, I am sitting until the food is ready for pickup.

100% normal. Don’t listen to the weirdo who expects you to search for a table once you have an armload of food. Idiotic.

No way. I have never heard of such a thing at a cafe. If my kid wants to sit down while order then they sit down while I order. That’s not saving a space that’s using one.

Yeah, reserving communal items like that is in bad form.

I was at a resort recently and the workers would walk through once every couple hours an hour and bag up any item used to reserve pool chairs and bring them to guest services. If you can’t reserve chairs with a water bottle and sunglasses, you can’t reserve a table at a laundromat with a basket.

Such is life.

Though I do agree that in general, having chairs available for people who want to relax by the pool makes life nicer. Just like having tables only for people actively folding clothes makes the laundromat run more smoothly. We live in a society, damnit!😂

OP, I appreciate that you have in a good natured way asked for and accepted the feedback.

But, I would like give you a way to have a make-shift folding surface in such a situation.

As long as you have a laundry basket that has a hard surface bottom (rigid or collapsible) you can use that as a folding table. You can unload your dried clothes in an empty clean outdoors contractor trash bag as a holding place. Then, you wipe the hard surface of the laundry basket with a wet wipe to clean it. Use that surface to fold the clothes on, and continue to stack the folded clothes in another clean trash bag.

You can also fold the big sheets and towels against your body without needing a table. They are the bulky items and once you have folded them, the only tricky part remains the shirts and pants. The underclothes and socks can go back home unfolded.

Using a clothes folder gadget to quickly fold the shirts using the landry basket bottom as a make shift table.

Also...You can also sit in your car and sort and fold the laundry.

I appreciate the honest responses and I now stand 100000% corrected.

Good points made.

You were definitely in the wrong OP.
But I want to add that I really respect your being so open minded in accepting responsibility for being so. Your lack of defensiveness is really lovely and I am thinking you must be a genuinely lovely person too.

Don't reserve anything. Leaving all machines and tables free as much as possible allows everyone the opportunity to move through the process more quickly.
