It's so predictable that the more controversial things are, the later they're posted. I wonder if they send them to Board members earlier than that, or if they only see those things at the last moment as well?
I wonder if they are intentionally stretching it past the deadline for folks submitting their video testimony for public comment. Does anyone know how far in advance of Board meetings that has to be sent in by?
They are due by noon the day before the meeting.
Thanks. So maybe they'll finally release it tomorrow afternoon when it's too late for the video commenters to respond to it. Although of course if they wait until Thurs morning that'll mean the in person commenters will have a hard time reacting as well...
In the past, the public comments always lag the item for discussion on the same day agenda, unless the public comments are from the in-the-known team, e.g., the MCCPTA folks that involved in the curriculum selection. Since they didn't voice out anything regarding acceleration recommendations in the last week's BOE session, I bet on 99% chance this is not discussed at all in the study team.
The GEC and the general PTA are basically hinting that they’re going to do away with acceleration from the posts I’ve seen, but I don’t think anyone knows. This is all so gross that they would just make this change and not tell anyone
They will only be discussing the topic, not voting on it this week.

All the more reason people need to speak up. But this board has rubber stamped everything MCPS wants. Just look at the destruction of the high school magnets for the “regional model.”
