St Albans has 2 going this year. No sports recruits.

Sidwell usually sends 1-2 students/year to Princeton, and they are almost always hooked (to an extent not seen at other Ivies, besides Yale). This year, there are 2 students going to Princeton and they’re both hooked.

Both hooked AF. The hookiest of all hooks.

I noticed this too, this year. The schools around us have multiple Harvard, Yale, and Stanford, and none to Princeton. It's on my radar because DC1 is there and we have younger ones coming up soon.

So what school is it? I don't want to bother going to look. Someone posted that St. Ann's has been doing really well? Which is in a group of its own - artsy fartsy school without traditional grades that has had a lot of major drama that would normally drive people away yet seems to still be doing well.

Whatever school it is, I guarantee that at least a few are very hooked. Even many of the very top NYC privates theoretically actually underperform the alma maters of the parents (i.e. Harvard/Yale parents whose kid goes to Hopkins)

My kid is on WL. They never take anyone from our HS. Occasionally, an athlete.

This, or athletes. The system is rigged, people! If you didn't become a mid-six-figure donor + alum of an Ivy League college, or have a kid with recruitable talent along with the work ethic, look elsewhere.

Those top schools offer sports like fencing, rowing, water polo, squash all of which which give many of their students an edge with admissions. These students can fill a roster spot and and are well prepared academically.
