As others have said, it's too far out to get a sense of airfare and the shape of world politics. It's not too early to get a sense of the itinerary as well as your budget. Considering how unpredictable things are right now, I'd have a couple ideas in hand so you can pivot as needed. You mentioned France, I'd think about Quebec as an alternative (or Montreal). If and when you do book your trip, I would also look into changeable options for everything, allowing you to change your plans without losing too much money.

Our family started our "dream" spring break location list with the added instructions for 2027 that they need to think about places closer to home and include one choice that is drivable. We may just do a staycation, those have actually been a lot of fun over the years.

This is exactly why accumulating different airlines’ miles (thru cr card churning, promos etc) is so worthwhile. You can grab seats using miles and then cancel or change them so easily if prices go down.

I did this last year for spring break. Hotel literaly never went down and I checked daily. Maybe because it was a Marriott and they know it always sells out.

So I'm not someone who typically panics at current events. We're going to London and Amsterdam this June and I've looked at long weekends nationally for summer getaways additionally.

However, I am definitely not looking at travel next Spring yet. Prices next year will likely be either waaaaay more or waaaaay less expensive than typical - just can't say which yet - depends on when, where you go/book/events near your travel/booking date.

I truly think the world is going to be somewhat in flux - although US better off gas price wise, agriculturally we are going to hurt as the rest of world is - come later this year. There's a lot of moving parts other than the Iran war impacting oil this stupid fiasco has caused - there's just a lot of political stuff that can happen impacting travel, economics, et al that I would wait until at least Fall to look at Spring bookings.

Even booking Aug/Sept/Oct for Apr travel is like 7-8 months ahead - so not sure you're behind the 8 ball if that's your timeline!

We already booked a Disney cruise for the 4 days my kids' breaks overlap.

It’s our last spring break with our teen. Many years ago I had said we could go to Japan as that’s always been his dream but with flight costs so crazy, not sure what we’ll do. Would like to do something special but if the world is on fire, of course that might not happen.

Sometimes I feel like the person planning a vacation in 1938, saying “hmmm….do you think next year will be okay to travel to Europe?” Hopefully things aren’t that bad.
