Could fly to Miami and rent a car. Lots of kid friendly attractions like a very solid aquarium and turtle rescue center. Also, Bahia Honda State Park is beautiful. We did Tucson one year which was good but there was a cold snap so instead of going to the rodeo my kids swam in the 80 degree pool in the snow. We have done two west coast college trips during spring break and those were very nice too.
Tucson rodeo is always in February so you couldn’t have done that during spring break anyway. Sigh—I miss getting rodeo off from school! Agree Tucson weather can be variable (except summer which is invariably hot) but with climate change it’s now really unusual to have cold days during spring break.
