We used hourly agent to buy our house, but we didn’t really use them to tour, we just went to open houses. Saved about 30k in comparison to if we had to pay 3%. It was great but would only do it if you don’t really need advice and you have been watching the market.

I used Redfin to buy my house. Agent was fantastic, the very best agent we've ever used, and we've owned five houses. I'm going to use her again if I ever sell my house. I can't remember the discount, but it was a lot. At that time, Redfin didn't sell houses, but now they do. I would not hesitate to use this particular agent again. I can't speak for any other Redfin agents though.

I didn't;t have any issue with a low fee agent. We found services to be overall same and our $1.1M home was sold easily in 4 weeks with 3.25% commission. Lot of money for someone to say NO
