That's why you go with Lucile or Lucia.

Though I do know of a Dr. Dick Tapper, and he's done alright as a urologist in Ohio. So I don't think names matter as much as you think.


I was listening to NPR the other day and there was a female journalist whose last name is Miao and I kept thinking that if that was my last name I would definitely name my daughter Kitty.

Lucy will look very professional and serious next to names like Kinsley and Oaklynn (that are going to be common among the next generation), though. It's all about perspective.

Lucy is a name unto itself and not only a nickname. There was a saint Lucy. I had a great aunt with this name. It's like how Jennie was a name of its own before Jennifer.

I don't know who Lucy Letby is.

I love the name Lucy. I don't like any of the longer forms, so I'd just name her Lucy. I do like Lucia if you are Latina or Italian, but in that case, I'd want to call her Lucia.

There’s no controversy, other than the fact that there are always people who think someone convicted of a crime is innocent.


That PP is right. There is. I live here so see the news daily. There's been experts making a fuss about the legitimacy of the claims made by Dewi Evans and consultants at the COCH (Dr Ravi Jayaram, Dr Stephen Brearey). I personally believe that she's guilty and always will, but I have seen the other "side" gaining traction.

But those longer names are all ugly, so they wouldn't be better. They'd just be uglier.
