I tend not to like names that create expectations. I feel like generally people will compare the actual person with their expectations and too often the child will feel the pressure from those expectations and either conform or rebel against them.

I think in the case of “Faith”, the expectation would be that either the individual would be exceptionally devout or would be an atheist, possibly hostile to religion. Unfortunately, religion itself is such a hot topic that whatever beliefs she eventually does or doesn’t have are bound to offend/antagonize someone. There’s a reason that conventional wisdom dictates that politics and religion should be avoided in polite conversation. By merely introducing herself, people’s minds will veer towards religion, and they’ll be framing their perceptions of her from that perspective, even if they don’t discuss it (which today is no longer a given).

Dislike. One syllable names always seem stumpy to me, and in addition Faith seems ugly as a sound. If you're in love with it, I'd make it a middle name but give a better first name.

I knew a woman named Faith and her two sisters named Hope and Charity. They were Quaker.

I’ll put it like this. It’s no Crystal or Misty, but it’s also no Elizabeth or Alexandra.

Agree with PP that Hope is lovely if you have a personal negative connotation with Faith (I have not encountered this "trashy Faith" phenomenon personally), and I really like Honor as a girl's name if that's not too out-there for you.

Honor's also my favorite virtue name. And I'm intrigued by Verity.

It seems a little trailer park to me, which is unfortunate because it has a beautiful meaning. Maybe as a middle name?
