Sorry, OP. I foster a lot of dogs and I get where you are coming from. People are curious, sometimes rude, sometimes just making conversation. I am chatty so I don't mind this kind of thing-I'd just answer and clarify. Thanks for adopting this dog and giving her a much better life. I am grateful for people like you! Try to take people's comments with a grain of salt and know that the people who care about dogs are thankful for your generosity.

We adopted a declawed cat and when I’ve told cat sitters, I feel they’re judging me like we must have been the ones who did it.
