Agree. And to be more specific: UVA's yield is historically around 40% (much higher instate) and Tech's is in the low 20-25%. They assume 75-80% will say no. Typically they will have multiple waitlists - in-state and out-of-state for each of the different schools/colleges - and will go the different wait-list as needed to complete the class.

It is a huge school with lots of opportunities, but the opportunities seem to be concentrated in the top 20-30% of the class with most others getting something but the bottom 10-20% just struggle.

Agree about seeing a lot more VT decisions on the schools IG-was more than in the past at this time of year

Separate wait lists for different parts of VT. Ag has a completely separate admissions pool from Eng, as an example.
