I do not notice the shoe wear of others. I, personally, don’t care for the hiking sandal look, so I choose casual tennis shoes. You do you.

I don’t think you need a back strap unless there are a lot of hills. You need side to side stability.

For me, Birkenstock Gizeh Flowers works for every situation except a serious hike or formal dinner.
