I’m a 51 year old woman and don’t understand some of the complaints like baldness or wrinkles. Be attracted to whoever you want but these are normal things.

Now consider the early 20s women on this forum who claim that they are just magnetically attracted to men over the age of 50, and cross-my-heart it has nothing to do with their money.

I find guys in their 40s/50s are either really fit and active or sedentary.

For me I am in the middle. I don't want someone who is running marathons every weekend or always at the gym but I also don't want a couch potato.

I married at 36 and divorced at 50. The decline in the physical appearance of men during that span of time is dramatic. Some women also take a deep dive during those years. But women are able to get an updated hairstyle and color it and they can wear makeup to conceal age spots and sun damage. You will do yourself a favor if you adjust your notion of what makes a man physically appealing at your age and at the age of men you'd want to date. There is no reason to excuse poor grooming. It's only patriarchal cultural expectations that suggest women shouldn't date younger. The real truth is that nowadays women do what they can to look young and stay fit, and most men let themselves go and are over the hill way earlier than women.

UMC women just look better than their male peers because they invest more time and money into their appearance. Men at 45+ are bald or grey, and wrinkly. Women who don't want to be, aren't.

Went to my HS reunion recently. The 40s is when people really age.. or don't. Some people take care of themselves and look pretty much like they did in HS. The other half and it as like "Good god, John, is that you?" and totally fell apart.

DP. She's not mocking their age. She's turned off by how they completely let themselves go. It's true.

OP, it used to be a career was all a man had to bring to the table. Men 40+ and even many under 40 still feel entitled to that low threshold. Remember "King of Queens"? A fat schlubby husband always screwing things up was the cultural equivalent of a total package wife. That's the world they want to live in. Men will do anything to avoid updating their priors.

Careful with the ones who actually take care of themselves and keep fit. They're often misogynistic and ultra mad at women. They hate that they have to make an effort to be competitive on the market.
