It’s also not “her job” to pay for daycare. It should be considered that it comes proportionally out of each of your paychecks. You are (newsflash!) also responsible for your child’s care.

Also, it sounds like she wants to keep working, which is reasonable. Millions of babies go to daycare. A good daycare is fine. Our daycare had good ratios, almost no turnover, and our kid received good, affectionate care - she was happy to see her daycare providers when we ran into them years later. No attachment problems at daycare or home. And now that she's a teen, you can't tell which kids went to daycare or had nannies or had SAHPs.
