Ask a neighbor to help out. Any other bus stop parent who will there will gladly help or any neighbor (retired/stay at home/leave taking) will also help. Just ask. I have done this myself and others did it for me.

Since there wasn’t a lot of warning about this storm, I imagine a lot of people don’t have their computers at home. I’d hate to have to come in just to get it to be able to telework but I’m not sure I wanna burn the day.

I'm the PP at a site outside the Beltway (but still in the same weather paths), we were closed Monday only. If we're open, we never get an unscheduled telework option. I'm pretty depressed at how much annual leave I'm burning just for weather this winter. Looks like I will have to tomorrow as well due to school letting out at 12:30.


Why did your agency not follow the overall OPM guidance for the region? The general guidance allowed unscheduled telework.

That was probably more a function of many commuter busses not running than any generosity in their heart.


They could’ve just easily said that’s not their problem and expected people to come in. There is plenty of reason to be upset about what this administration has done to feds, but let’s give them credit for being reasonable where they were.

are tracking the potential storms tomorrow afternoon in the DC area. Will keep you posted to the extent it warrants any changes in government operations.

I plan to go in at my normal 7:30 but leave at 12:30. Hopefully, that's early enough to stay ahead of the storm. I work in downtown DC but live in Rockville and drive.
