No. I do not trust other parents, my neighbors, caregivers, any handyman who comes to my house, any coaches or any teachers etc. I will give a ride to other people's children, but my kids do not go with other adults except my DH, my parents, my brothers and my DH's sister. (My ILs are elderly, forgetful and careless.). I have personally seen many parents who are neglectful at best and dangerous at best when they are around other people's children.
I hope you are teaching your kids some independent life skills. Your level of angst may be giving them anxiety and make them codependent.
I understand being a protective parent but I’m not sure why you think the US is the only place where people prey on children.

I can easily spend 4 hours on just the first task, working on my laptop. I would think how much time you can spend on many of these activities would depend on the specifics of your situation.

Hey, I get what you mean about other people being irresponsible. But I mean this with kindness. You should talk with a mental health professional if you're this wary about leaving mentally competent children (high schoolers?!) in the hands of other adults, particularly activities where adults are not allowed to be 1:1 with a child. For your sake and more importantly, your children's sake.

Good idea on bringing coolers and ice packs for grocery shopping! I’d probably get some work done for a few hours, then grocery shop and get something to eat for myself while I’m at the store.

When my son had something similar, I found a pool that allowed visitors nearby, swam laps, and then went for a leisurely lunch. There was also a library near by so sometimes I read or did work. But it sounds like there might not be a lot around the destination.

This, stay and find something to do even if its just like shopping or errands like car wash, gas the car up. If you run out of things to do read. But you should be able to find things to do or even a park to go for an hour walk on.
