Same, as a fellow 40 year old. It's up there with bringing the most oaked, buttery Chardonnay you can find. Maybe someone is into that? But many more would be repulsed.

Depending on your price range, try bringing a LaMarca Processo or Laurent Perrier champagne instead. A Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc are pretty universal too; I’d stay away from moscato. I haven’t had or liked that since getting introduced to wine in college.
