the size of the roster is not the issue. the issue is only 11 players ever play. the rest are practice players. what’s even worse is that the club fees don’t cover some of the tournaments so mike lookingland “asks” parents to help with fundraisers (in other words the kids who don’t play have to fund the tournaments for the 11 that do play). it is such a scam.

Is it normal for this age group and level of play to have such a high roster number? 20ish players? That's insane.

Or even be coached. He does not coach.

Stay away from this club and this coach. We can’t wait for this season to be over and leaving. Extremely abusive Coach. Consistently degrades the non starters since beginning of the season then blame them for not performing when he’s been ruining their mental health for 6 months

No matter what you do, he won’t play you as a new player. 11 specific boys and their families have a strong hold although his team has 21 QUALITY players that he hand picked and scouted. He just wants bodies on the bench

Armour will sell you with - we have depth and every single player on this team will get scouted just because your affiliated with this club

Bunch of bull crap. They just talent hoard and screw over families

also notice the commits are only from the starting 11. the bench players are not recruited because lookingland does not play the other 15 teammates who are used as practice players for the starting 11, and then degrades and makes fun of them for losing the game.

Does he get confused because the game isn’t indoors?

What pipeline is solid ?

Their most recent social media post boasts their 2026 commitments. They usually have two or three solid commits and then the rest are some random universities. Majority go to Loyola and Lehigh because they are buddies and it’s hilarious they put the UMD commit when the goalie left them for dc United two years ago 🤣 they had to do photoshop an Armour shirt on him

It stands that this is a messed up club with messed up management and they will screw your son unless you’re blessed to be one of the favorites

How is their college placement for 2026 and 2027?

Based on their social media, not great.

Better off going to pipeline- their college placements are great- probably the best in MD. Bethesda also has good placement.

Relevancy? This is a post about boys soccer and pipelines placements are solid

There is starting 11, and then regular subs and maybe a couple of game day roster spots that change. Unless the new kids are immediately and obviously better than a starter, it’s very difficult to get minutes much less a starting spot.
please stay on topic as these are experiences from people who are on armour and want to leave/have left. i know of no other coach that lets players ‘waste’ away on the bench and purposely ruins their chances of being recruited.

Thank you. It’s a fair warning to others and no- this is not normal behavior. You will not understand until you experience it.

Finally someone creating a post about this guy. STAY AWAY. I’m glad we left. This guy puts in the subs in the last 10 min when we’re losing and then he sits down and doesn’t even pay attention or coach the team. The absolute degrading of the players is unbelievable

Even premier league coaches don’t function as he does.

He has quality players (he’s always scouting new players) and if he uses them to sub them tactically, he would win more games. Instead, he plays a starting 11 until they’re so freaking tired they even give up the game. Then we lose, then he puts in the subs while we’re losing

Stupidest set up I’ve ever seen. Then their club recruiting guy tells you you’re going to get scouted just because you’re affiliated with Armour. bunch of BS
