I have owned multiple EVs and they require very little upkeep tbh, and have been no more expensive to fix out of warranty than our ICE Toyota. this sounds like fear mongering.

I'm on my second EV. The technology may change but it won't really matter - we were really happy with our 2013 EV until we replaced it a year ago. People who haven't had EVs are unnecessarily fearful about battery loss or tech changes, but they have been reliable cars for a long time now.

There is HUGE value in buying a slightly used EV. They depreciate fast and yet are great cars. We bought a 2-yo Ioniq 5 off a lease and it has been great. Was about half sticker price.

We got a Kia model. We don’t have a subscription but I think you can pay for certain upgraded app features. I believe the upgraded app was included in our lease because we can do remote start, remote climate etc.

I am looking for a 3 row EV next time and am interested in the Highlander.
