Double texting (or more) and also expecting a response so soon after an irl hang comes off as pretty needy/clingy.

Not sure I would care about that tbh. She’s my good friend. I’m not worried about looking needy to her.

But as I mentioned, there’s a group chat we are both on, so there’s been chatter on that chain. She’d normally chime in. She didn’t. So yesterday I texted off line once. No response. So today I texted off the chain again.

What does texting offline mean? I guess I'm old (46).

Op here. By offline I meant off the group text. So one to one.

Anyway, thanks for everyone’s advice! I did text her again to ask ‘you got in ok, right?’ and she popped up to respond FINALLY and now has sent about a dozen texts, chatting across the two text chains.
Some people may think that’s nosy of me, but better safe than sorry imo. She lives alone and doesn’t have family in town.

Thanks for the update, I'm glad your friend is ok.

Does she have a job that would notice if she hadn't shown up by now? If yes, then don't worry.

You texted, she didn’t respond, she is a difficult person known to not respond, case closed. Next!

If she hasn't responded to texts, doesn't have read receipts on, hasn't posted on social media, etc, I would also want proof of life too if it were my friend. I would just call her. That's what you get when you don't respond to multiple texts asking if you made it home safely.

My friends and I routinely exchange proof of life texts. Just ask.

So a woman met a woman friend and one or both took public transportation home at night and one wants proof of life.
Well I would too. Private is one thing. Reclusive and incommunicado and nonrespnsive is another. This woman works? With people? They are weird.
Once OP finds out she is alive OP should avoid her. She wasn't concerned about OP getting home or worrying.

Give her space. I sometimes do that. I'm an introverted person with social anxiety, and honestly, there are plenty of days when I don't want to interact with people, even my friends whom I like very much!

You did nothing wrong re public transport.

Swamped with work on a Sunday?

Anonymous wrote:I think if you're worried about her, totally normal to send something like "Hey Larla - I just realized I hadn't heard from you since that night out a few days ago, and wanted to make sure you did get home okay and are alive"

I'm sure she'll respond with "Yes! Sorry, been busy but I'm alive!" and you can return to the normal order.

I’d be worried too. Yea, she’s private but how hard is it to just say you made it home and then go into ghost mode. Can you tell if she saw the text. Call her work, ask for her and then hang up.
