I put them in the fabric recycling bins except on the extremely rare occasions when the shirt in question is of SOFT cotton, in which case we gratefully use them.

If my kid liked the camp or sport or whatever, I see no issue with wearing the shirts. Most of my kids’ shirts and some hoodies are from their camps, sports, tournaments.

One of my kids does soccer training at a place where they give kids a T shirt every time they take a new class or camp session. Each session is 6-8 classes and camp is usually a couple of days or a week. We don’t do them all but usually a few per year. If I’m not there to stop it my kid will let them give him a shirt every time, so now he has one in seemingly every color. I know it’s free advertising for them but I wish they’d just let us pay $10 less and skip the shirt.

I feel the opposite. Way too many cotton tshirts already and they prefer the athletic shirts when running around outside. I would be annoyed at cotton tshirts for a sports team.

We end up with a lot from swim team. But, my kids love these shirts and wear them a lot. If they didn’t want them, we’d donate them.

I would donate them if they don’t like them. I didn’t typically dress my kids in those shirts when they were younger but as they’ve gotten older and are choosing their own clothes, they love wearing shirts they get from different activities. They even like to buy the overpriced ones from gymnastics meets and soccer tournaments. They usually just wear them for sports practices, hanging out at home, or sleeping.

The thing is while I agree they’re wasteful my kid has worn them. The camp ones they have to wear on field trips. So she might only wear once, but she can’t refuse it outright.
Sports, we have so many soccer shirts in different colors but they have to wear them to be part of the team in a game.
