Makes sense. And older might be okay in special circumstances, as long as there is no interest in cohabitation or remarriage. As in, there is an understanding that you'll each get out of the way if the other person gets sick and let their kids take over, and that you won't comingle assets. Then, dater a little older is less scary.

I’m a 59 yo woman in a relationship with a 53 yo man. When I was in my late 40s I dated up to 8 years older and 8 years younger. But at this age, I wouldn’t date someone more than 2-3 years older than me.
