it is six weeks. You can always take FLMA if company has it or unpaid leave or use sick days. Materinity leave guaranteed is mainly a perk or new employees only. My prior company sick days did not expire so women with company a long time had 50-150 days in the bank. It was a good retention tool. Often women who planned on having a kid would not leave. They give back all those sick days.

I was referencing the STD which is separate from FMLA and not all policies cover pregnancy and/or pregnancy-related complications. If I got in a car wreck and lost 2600ml of blood it would be covered. If I had Crohns and got an infection from abscess it would be covered. But a severe hemorrhage and infection as a result of pregnancy/delivery are not covered.
