I could not walk into that building holding my toddler's hand...you can't just extinguish the kind of fearful energy and trauma that community went through, no matter how much you want that pathway to BVR/STA. Especially in a city with many excellent preschools.

The details of the HOS's conduct still haunt me. I recommend not reading the specifics because it's hard to shake.

My kids attended NCRC many years ago, and we found it...fine. We never understood the big deal of it. One thing that annoyed me was that they seemed to go to lengths to NOT teach reading when our kids (and many others) were clearly ready for it. But it was fine. The kids were happy to go. I found it egregiously overpriced for what it was, but I wouldn't say there was anything really bad about it.

If this is really true, my child (a 4 YO?!) would be gone. I thought it was trending in that direction when my youngest was there about 7 years ago, but it sounds like it's gone even further off the deep end since.

I remember being annoyed when they wouldn't let the kids or parents talk about Mothers Day.

I don’t think OP is questioning science backed practices, such as they are at NCRC. She is questioning the deeper philosophy of the school which yes, is extremely liberal.

Their practices (and yes philosophy) promote diversity. And there have been multiple studies showing why diversity benefits all students. Here’s one:

Loved NCRC for my youngest and regret I didn't send my oldest. She had the most loving, nurturing teachers and they did such a great job sparking her curiosity. I wished we stayed for PK4- she's at a much larger elementary school with a mediocre PK experience.

It’s a really warm nurturing place. They understand early childhood better than anyone. I would keep an open mind.

WRONG! I sent both of my kids there, and they received an excellent, age-appropriate preschool education. So I stand by my original comment.
