Are you sure? I thought serving food on red dishes was one of those Amazing tricks to help you lose weight!!!!! things

We have plain white dishes from Pier 1 or Sur la Table (I don't remember which)

I have a set of dinnerware that is gorgeous that I absolutely hate -- because it is very heavy.

Ha!We have Chili and Fire. Love them. Never used plastic kid plates. We lived in an apt and didn’t have space. They cost a bunch up front (thank you wedding attendees!) but we still love them.

Another +1. We've had ours about 15 years. They've been dropped, banged around the dishwasher, packed and moved, and generally abused by two boys from ES to teenage years.

In theory I love the fact that it's an enduring line, so it'll be easy to replace individual pieces when one breaks ... but the only time we've broken anything was when a bowl was dropped off our deck and fell 12 feet to a stone patio. I guess it was nice to be able to replace that bowl.

I have plain white corelle set, use it daily. Ended up getting 30 plate settings (stack so thin) so also use it for more casual get togethers when I don't want to use disposable.

I have Corelle and crate and barrel porcelain. The crate and barrel look great but they chip. Corelle is baby proof. It is the most practical dinnerware around.

Corelle - my mom has the same set from 1970 and we've never broken one piece. It's used daily and at all family functions.

i have tin can alley from Lenox - love it - good basic white, goes in dishwasher, does not chip.
