That is because it is a cultural norm to say arabs are terrorists and Muslims promote violence. Anything slightly critical of Netanyahu and his killing military is considered anti-semitism. Even putting up a yellow ceasefire sign is considered anti-Semitic. It is all incredibly hypocritical.

Ridiculous. I hate that murderous hypocrite.

How was the event? Did Shema finally clarify the antisemitic events in Maret ?

No public cases of antisemitism in dc private schools but a lot in Montgomery country and Fairfax county public schools.

I haven't seen any anti-Palestinian sentiment in schools.

But you see a lot of antisemitism in schools? I have never seen a single case in my kids school or in the elite schools.

I have a college student as well. So, yes. Plenty.

In K-12 schools? Doubt it. I have seen a lot of racial discrimination though.

Curious if you are Jewish. If you are not, perhaps you just aren't seeing it.

I don’t have to be Jewish to understand what is discrimination or antisemitism, in the same way that you don’t have to be African American to understand racism. You can see antisemitism in universities, moreover these are documented by the press, but nothing like that in private schools in dc. Maybe you can share an article in the press about antisemitism in private schools in dc.

Agree with the above poster- just because Jewish kids might “look” white, it doesn’t mean they aren’t experiencing discrimination. That is truly a myopic and narcissistic way of defining discrimination. Have you heard of the Holocaust??? (I am PoC and not Jewish, just in case you were wondering)

It’s coming to Maret, but not sure why only Maret.

So is it acceptable to respect the Jewish religion while still supporting the Palestinian cause? That seems to be where the tension comes from. Or is the Palestinian cause simply off-limits?

Maybe I should attend the Shema workshop to understand it better.

In any case, there were reported episodes of antisemitism at our school that were never disclosed, so it’s not clear to me what “antisemitism in school” actually looks like in practice.

Because you haven’t pitched one to the schools.

Maybe schools don’t care about it.
